IELTS SPEAKING PRACTICE TEST 2
This practice test follows the IELTS Speaking format and includes Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Use it to practise speaking clearly, naturally, and in detail.
Instructions: This is a speaking practice page. Read the examiner’s questions and answer them aloud. In Part 1, give short but developed answers. In Part 2, speak for 1 to 2 minutes. In Part 3, give longer answers with reasons, explanations, and examples where appropriate.
Part 1 – Introduction and Interview
The examiner asks the candidate about familiar topics such as home, study, work, and daily life.
Topic A: Time management
1. Do you usually plan your day in advance?
2. What part of the day do you find most productive?
3. Have you ever found it difficult to manage your time well?
Topic B: Books and reading habits
4. What kinds of books or articles do you enjoy reading?
5. Do you prefer reading printed books or digital texts?
6. How important is reading in everyday life?
Topic C: Quiet places
7. Do you prefer quiet places or lively places?
8. Where do you usually go when you need peace and quiet?
9. Is it easy to find quiet places where you live?
Part 2 – Individual Long Turn
Candidate task card:
Describe a time when you changed your opinion about something important.
You should say:
- what the situation was
- what your original opinion was
- what caused you to change your mind
- and explain how you felt after changing your opinion
You will have 1 minute to prepare and then you should speak for 1 to 2 minutes.
Part 3 – Two-way Discussion
1. Why do people sometimes hold strong opinions even when they have little information?
2. Do you think it is easy for most people to admit that they were wrong? Why or why not?
3. How do friends, family, or social media influence people’s opinions?
4. In what situations can changing one’s opinion be seen as a strength rather than a weakness?
5. Do you think young people are more open to changing their views than older people?
6. How important is critical thinking in modern society?
